Hello! It's Me..

I was wondering if you came by to read my blog.. To know everything.. about me.. They say writing's supposed to heal ya.. And I have done much healing..

If you know the lyrics to "Hello" by Adele, then you probably just tried to sing the words above. If not, you're just confused right now and that's okay.

Allow me to reintroduce myself!

My name is HOV, OH, H to the OV. I used to move snowflakes by the O-Z. I guess even back then you could call me. CEO of the R-O-C, Hov! If you haven't guessed by now. I love music. If you've never heard Public Service Announcement by Jay-Z, click this link to get your life!

Seriously, though. I cannot foolishly assume that each person who visits this website knows me. Even some people who think they know me, really don't know me. So before y'all go perusing these internet streets trying to find out about me, I'll save you some time and energy.

Who is Tashara?

The photoshopped photo perfectly describes me. Hair slayed. Face Beat. Smile on point. Contoured for the gods. Neck snatched for Jesus! The black roots with blonde hair and inconspicuous nose ring show just a hint of edge, but not too much. Y'all can't see my cute bell sleeves that stop just above my elbows, so that you can see the tattoos that cover both arms. I am Savagely Southern--a tall glass of Long Island Sweet Tea. Everything about me is dainty, yet daring.

I have searched my heart, my wardrobe, my collection of makeup, wigs and hair products to truly find out who I am. I have assessed the expectations of others. Evaluated how much of myself I could lose to be loved by everyone else. I have done it all to answer the question, "Who is Tashara?" Truly, I've done it all! I bet you're wondering, well, chile, what did you come up with? Who are you?

Just kidding. However, this still shot from a boomerang Instagram video captures me. This is Tashara--Glasses, toboggan, minimal makeup, sweatshirt and hoops.

Comfortable. Cute. Courageous.

This is my every Saturday uniform while I am screaming at 11 year olds play basketball like it's the NBA finals.

That's part of who I am.

Loyal is another piece of me. If Auntie Shara says she's going to be at a game. Auntie Shara will be there!

Also and most importantly,

I'm everybody's favorite auntie.

I'm the Mary J. Blige of the family. Dancing off beat, all the kids love me, can't sing for real, but y'all can hear my passion over the missed notes.

Every day I discover more about who I am and who I am not.

I am not defeated.

I am not broke or broken.

I am not ashamed of my past.

I am not afraid.

I am free.

I am more than a conqueror.

I am love.

I am joy.

I am Tashara.

I might even be the Sheriff!

This journey of self discovery is never ending, yet also never failing. Despite all that I have been through (you will learn more about in blogs to come), I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging for bread (Psalm 37:25). Most of all, I am a servant of God. I have given my life to ministry. My heart dropped a little even typing that. Just to know that God has chosen me to be a beacon of light and hope for His people is so overwhelming! Yet, I will hold his banner high. I'll forever live for His glory and speak of His pleasures because He saved a hot mess like me.

I am so honored that you have decided to join the #TTribe. This small introduction is my way of saying hello and welcome to my world! Thank you for sharing in this journey with me.
